Benefit Supper for Mathew Jamison - 16 Apr 2010

The Knights of Columbus of Millinocket #680 sponsored a turkey supper and silent auction to benefit the “Help Keep Matt Mobile” project. Matt is a 15 year old young man born with Spinal Bifida. Matt’s mom Peggy, is a single mom and is no longer able to lift Matt due to his size. Peggy needed to purchase a new van with a wheelchair lift and a new mobile chair for Matt. The Knights of Council 680 that were present at the supper were overjoyed when State Secretary Raymond Sargent announced he was giving a $500 check on behalf of the Maine State Council “Tootsie Roll Drive Fund” to our Grand Knight, Gerry Baker, for the “Help Keep Matt Mobile” project. The supper, silent auction and other donations netted a little over $4,500 as reported by project Chairman Bruce Rioux.
