The city of Calais will be celebrating their Bi-centennial this year with a massive parade on August 8th. The Parade day also coincides, with the areas International Festival Parade on the same day. As such they are being rolled into one. The two border community Councils/Asseblies, are planning to march in the parade. It will be starting in Calais and marching on over to St. Stephen N.B. Thus an International Event.
The Canadians are planning on having marching Assemblies come down from St. John, Ormonto, and Woodstock N.B. Two years ago we did the same thing and they had approximately 65 Sir Knights marching in the Parade, as we celebrated the Orders 125th that year.
I am sending out an Open Invitation to any Assembly or Sir Knight that would like to join us. I know that Calais is out of the way. But I guarantee, you'll have a good time.
We are planning on meeting at the Calais Hall, in the morning for a light breakfast. The Canadians will be bussed across the border, to join us at our Hall. After breakfast we'll suit up and get ready for inspection. A float is also being planned for the event.
We will march through the border in formation, and continue to the end point where we will then proceed to the Knights Hall in St.Stephen N.B. for a light lunch and the beverage of your choice.
If any Assembly or Sir Knight would like to join us, please contact:
