Just a note to remind everyone that the issue of same sex marriage will be upon us within the next few weeks and the Diocese of Portland has asked for our assistance to defeat this ill advised proposition. Within the next few weeks we will be asked to assist in gathering signatures on petitions to be given to our State Representatives in an effort to urge them to vote NO on this issue. I ask that when you are asked to lend your support to this effort that you respond favorably by assisting in gathering names on these petitions or by signing one to help defeat this proposal. There will also be a hearing on this issue on October 24th in Augusta and I ask everyone who can attend to do so and show our Representatives that we believe that marriage is the union of a man and a woman and should remain as such. It is our moral obligation
to support our Church and it's teachings on this very important issue.
